The Ministry of Defense (MOD) purchased 300,000 copies of Revelation, and requested customisations to deal with their specific security requirements. These software applications are a key component of the Defence Information Infrastructure (DII).

DII is a secure, fully managed and supported infrastructure service, providing user support 24/7, 365 days a year all over the world. DII has enabled the seamless exchange and access to information, collaborative working and interoperability with NATO allies – on a system designed with security from the ground up. The scale of the challenge was enormous: 300,000 users, 150,000 terminals, 2,000 MOD locations fixed around the world with deployed and maritime platforms, and more than 500 applications designed to exacting security standards.

Today, DII makes a real difference to the ability of MOD personnel to use and share information securely – from decision-makers in the UK right through to personnel on the front line. Digilink are proud to have supplied Revelation as one of the key components.

In the past, trying to use around 300 ageing and outdated legacy systems to exchange and access information efficiently was rather like trying to have an important conversation where half the people can’t understand what you’re saying and the other half don’t even know you’re talking. Today, DII makes a real difference to the ability of MOD personnel to use and share information securely – from decision-makers in the UK right through to personnel on the front line.
